Class Descriptions
Basic Abdominal
Basic overview of abdominal ultrasound including physics, scan techniques, Color Doppler and normal abdominal sonographic anatomy. Emphasis will be the normal anatomy of the abdomen and unique isomorphic appearances of the abdominal organs. Emphasis will also be placed on the use of normal abdominal vessels for aid in identifying normal structure and their expected anatomic location.
Tuition: $1400
Intermediate Abdominal
Overview of scanning techniques including Doppler and Color Flow imaging and commonly encountered abdominal abnormalities. Acquire experience in performing studies with the patients in lateral and dorsal recumbency.
Tuition: $1400
Basic Cardiac
Basic overview of cardiac ultrasound including principles of performing a basic echocardiogram including standard imaging windows, imaging planes and the standard views. Cursory understanding of color flow, pulsed-wave Doppler and continuous wave Doppler evaluation. Understand echocardiographic abnormalities with common canine and feline heart disease.
Tuition: $1400
Intermediate Cardiac
Detailed understanding of color flow, pulsed wave Doppler and continuous wave Doppler evaluation. Understand calculations invoiced in systolic time intervals applying principles of Doppler evaluation and volumetric calculations.
Tuition: $1400
Advanced Small Animal Echocardiography
The course is directed at veterinarians and technologists with extensive echo experience. Course objectives include diagnostic study from the right and left hemithorax; 2D, M-mode and Doppler quantifiaction; differences between PW, CW and color doppler, examination of Doppler dervied flow signals; and the use of echo and Doppler in recognition, staging and managment of congenital and acquired heart disease.
Tuition: $2000
Advanced Small Animal Abdominal
The course is directed at veterinarians and technologists with intermediate abdominal imaging experience. Course objectives include understanding the complementary role of radiography and ultrasonography, recognition and description of images of a variety of normal and disease conditions, learning to use anatomic landmarks to develop systematic scanning techniques for imaging organs and small peripheral structures, understanding spectral, color and power Doppler imaging, understanding the role of US guided aspiration/biopsy techniques, and much more.
