The vet had a lot of farm animals as patients so he really had to have a portable ultrasound machine.  Could you imagine taking a cow or a horse to the vet for an ultrasound?  This was really not possible.  So the vet in our town had to invest in a portable ultrasound machine.  It was the only way to go.   Before he purchased the portable ultrasound machine many of the animals could not be treated properly.
